Parade Home tour time 😉 I was pleasantly surprised by this ten lot development. Thank you @julierockwelldarz for the invite to tour 2950 Terra Nova, built by @engelsmahomes. The road was meandering and the topography varied. The land was not clear cut- it still has plenty of mature trees and interest. It’s in Cascade at Buttrick and 28th, near both Ada Village and charming downtown Lowell. There are 10 lots in this development and the majority have sold, but there are still a few available that are between 2.3-3.2 acres each. The lots are priced at $300-400K. This parade home was custom built and was being shown as an example of what can be built in the Terra Nova development. Engelsma had many of their team there to chat with, and what I really appreciated hearing from them is that as part of their process, they develop architectural plans, layout, and selections and get very detailed up front, so you know before breaking ground what your real costs will be. I have heard too many times from people building a custom home, and when all is said and done, they are somewhere between 10% or 50% over budget. That is just wild to me- NO one wants that! Had dinner last night at Myrth and I have to say everything was EXCELLENT. Busy day dinner: order takeout from Le Kabob to pick up on the way home. They really are a great option, put on your radar if they aren’t already! (Firm believer here that a great homemade dressing is what makes the salad) - the little breads - side of grilled chicken - shish kabob sandwiches (a pita wrap w hummus) If we are feeling fries- Greek fries 😋 topped with feta & house dressing. Really have learned a lot about gardening since I bought my own house. Took my broker exam this morning. Did zero studying. Knew the content. Finished in approximately 68 minutes, for a 210 minute exam. The guy at PSI Testing said it was one of the fastest broker exam PASSES he has ever seen 😆🏆 That made me feel good! I still have 30 hours to go to complete my GRI designation and broker pre-licensing before getting my official ‘associate broker’ license. He had open heart bypass surgery on Tuesday morning, so we are on day 2 of a 12 week recovery. Wow. And did I mention, they are currently under contract to buy a house. Yeah!!! A first for me, but glad I’m the one they can trust to quote homeowner’s insurance, be sure that utilities are transferred, and everything is in place for an electronic closing. In sharing this with people, I can’t believe how common bypass surgery apparently is. I didn’t know. I am thankful for my village that has been checking in ❤️ My aunt came in town to be a resource, and she’s invaluable- was a surgical icu nurse for decades. What a wealth of knowledge ❤️ so incredibly thankful. At any rate, I’m grateful for the resources we have here in Grand Rapids. And for family. And friends. And flexibility.
